In addition to design and permitting, RW Armstrong also managed the construction administration services. This involved weekly construction meetings and various on-site inspection services. RW Armstrong reviewed various construction documents including RFI's, Shop Drawings, and Pay Applications. During construction, the authority requested that RW Armstrong redesign the alignment of the new service road and the rehabilitation of Taxiway Echo. These changes were handled in a timely manner and did not affect the construction schedule.

CARGO AND GROUND SUPPORT FACILITIES
TAMPA, FLORIDA
RW Armstrong was the prime consultant to lead the design team and perform the construction administration of the new Cargo and GSE Facilities at Tampa International Airport. The new facility is located on approximately 46 acres owned by the HCAA in the Drew Park acquistion area. The two new buildings were designed for approximately 112,200 square feet of mixed use with cargo operations, airline provisioning, ground service equipment (GSE) maintenance and US Customs. In addition to the buildings, a portion of the existing airport perimeter road was rehabilated and a new service road connecting the facilities to the airport was designed and constructed.
The new GSE and cargo facilities have been designed to replace the existing buildings in a "like-for-like" fashion to maximize the square footage available to tenants while minimizing additional lease costs. RW Armstrong coordinated with the HCAA and 14 individual tenants to provide architectural, engineering, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and communication systems needed for the new facilities. Both facilities have been planned to accomodate future airport growth in the Drew Park area, as shown in the airport's 2025 master plan.
