PINELAND TRAILS ROAD CONNECTION

On May 17, 2011 the City of Ormond Beach Economic Development Director (Joe Mannarino) told the City Commission that "we have access planned on the western side ("Pineland Trails Road Connection") so we can connect Business Park Way (Airport Industrial Park), which a portion has already been developed...which would give us more diverse connection between Sunshine Boulevard and Pineland Trail, so Airport Road wouldn't be as impacted from the development at the airport."

Arnie B. Green Associates, Inc. agrees.  The Pineland Trail roadway connection is not a new idea.  But, it is a good one.  The roadway connection has already been planned by the City of Ormond Beach.  The roadway connection will complete a key link for the Southwest Quadrant of the Airport and the surrounding properties.
DIRECT CONNECTION

Direct access off Pineland Trail road will create a looped transportation system which will improve the level of service for Pineland Trail Road and Airport Road.  More importantly, the roadway connection will allow two points of access to the Southwest Quadrant of the Airport and will make the needed connection to Ormond Beach's future growth areas, being Ormond Crossings and North U.S. Route 1.

With a direct connection, both developments (Southwest Quadrant and Ormond Crossings) will be able to feed off each other.  Similarly, the Pineland Trail connection will provide direct access to I-95 from the Airport.  This connection is key for success of the Southwest Quadrant of the Airport, Airport as a whole, and the Airport Industrial Park.

This connection will also benefit the infrastructure of the City of Ormond Beach by way of providing secondary access for emergency vehicles, connecting utilities and master planning storm water management facilities.
